Introducing the Orchestra Financial Suite

Automated FP&A for your R&D Pipeline

Written by Tara Lee

We are excited to introduce the Orchestra Financial Suite, a powerful set of features designed to close the loop between your science and your spend.

These capabilities allow you to unify planning across departments, automate FP&A activities like re-forecasting and variance analysis, and easily price out the impact of scenarios to drive decision making.

1. Unified Financial Modeling

Consolidate budgeting and forecasting across departments. Bring R&D, G&A, and Operations together into one cohesive financial view.

  • Board ready visualizations: Automatically distill your model into investor ready charts. View your runway overlaid directly against your R&D milestones.

  • Top down and bottom up budgeting: Start with high level estimates for early planning, then refine with milestone payments and detailed costing as programs become more defined.

2. Automated Re-Forecasting & Variance Analysis

Orchestra automates monthly reporting by integrating to the accounting systems you already use, eliminating the effort needed to reconcile your plan with your actuals.

  • QuickBooks integration: Link your QBO account to map your transactions and general ledger categories to your forecast. Use granular permissions to control who sees sensitive financial data.

  • Automated variance analysis: Instantly see where you are under or over budget. We highlight discrepancies between Estimated vs. Actual spend using custom heatmap thresholds (e.g., >10% variance), so you can spot red flags immediately.

3. Advanced Scenario Planning

Navigate uncertainty by assessing many permutations of your strategy.

  • Mix-and-match scenarios: Toggle different versions of specific sources to test complex scenarios (e.g., "What if the IND is delayed AND we accelerate hiring?")

  • Visual impact analysis: Instantly see how scenarios impact your bottom line. We visualize your Base Case vs. Scenario to show exactly how changes push out (or pull in) your Cash Out.

4. Dynamic Financial Grids

When you need to drill down and analyze, we have brought the power of a pivot table directly into the browser.

  • Slice and dice: Group your financials by Source (Program/Budget), Accounting Category, or Vendor Tags, and filter to answer specific questions (e.g., "How much are we spending on Preclinical CROs?")

  • Excel Export: Generate a clean, formatted file perfect for sharing with investors or auditors who require offline analysis.
